Toasted Oatmeal Strawberry Smoothie

“Pale pink and virtuous, this could also be called a breakfast smoothie as the toasted oatmeal reminds me of delicious porridge.”

Ingredients
Serves 2

•    25g (1 oz) oatmeal
•    150g (5 ½ oz) strawberries
•    450 ml (16 fl oz) semi-skimmed milk
•    50g (1 ¾ fl oz) low fat natural yoghurt
•    1 tbsp runny honey

Method

Toast the oatmeal in a frying pan on the hotplate for a couple of minutes, until it begins to turn colour to a deep golden brown.  Tip into the blender.

Place all the ingredients into the blender and process until smooth.  Pour into 2 glasses and chill.  Serve with a sprig of mint, if liked.
