Mincemeat Palmiers

A variation on mince pies, these palmiers are quick and easy to make.

Ingredients
Makes 16

  • 115g (4oz) good quality mincemeat
  • 25g (1oz) glace cherries, chopped
  • 25g (1oz) walnuts, finely chopped
  • 1 piece of ready rolled puff pastry

 

Method

Place the mincemeat into a basin, mix in the cherries and walnuts. Spread the mincemeat mixture over the pastry. Fold both long sides into the centre, brush with water and again fold in half
lengthways. Cut into 1cm (½ inch) slices and place well apart on a lined baking sheet.


2, 3 and 4 oven AGA: Cook on the second set of runners down in the roasting oven for about 10-15 minutes, turn once during cooking. Cool and serve lightly sprinkled with icing sugar.
